About Me

Bruno Miguel Martins da Silva was born in Lisbon, Portugal, on 7th September 1985. He is half Portuguese, half Angolan.

With a keen interest in photography, Bruno Miguel started photographing when he was a teenager. He gets involved in many different types of work, such as beauty shoots done for NARS Cosmetics or  conceptual work done for the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies in Lisbon.

Bruno Miguel is inspired by anthropology, history and race & genetics, in part due to his humanities and social sciences studies, as well as from living in and experiencing many multicultural environments. He also draws inspiration from cultural movements like the Renaissance and Modernism and their visual arts movements such as paintings and sculpture. Other sources of inspiration include filmmaking, advertising, music and the fashion industry.

From portraiture to street photography, Bruno Miguel is particularly keen on photographing people.
